Installation of a NIBE outside air heat pump can lead to your energy consumption for heating being reduced by up to 50% in comparison to conventional heating systems.
If it is not possible to drill in a ground probe or install a surface absorber on the property, then you should choose an outside air heat pump.
This converts the energy of the outside air into heat and creates a comfortable temperature inside the house.
Although none of the outside air heat pumps that are available on the market, can cover the heating requirements all year round, this type of heat pump does offer economic benefits.
If the outside temperature drops to around minus fifteen degrees centigrade, then the energy content of the cold air becomes so small that the heat pump cannot provide further economic advantages. Therefore, a complementary oil-fired or electric boiler must be integrated.
In general the economic benefits of an outside air heat pump depend on the local climatic conditions.
